Morele Modernizes Logistics Center

Morele’s implementation of a new order fulfillment system in its online store took nearly three months, but it didn’t impact customer shipments. The total investment exceeded 20 million PLN, with the most crucial part being the purchase of an automated product storage system for Morele’s offerings.

The modernization of the logistics center began in early June of this year and was carried out in stages. Work started with preparing the available space for the new system and setting up the electrical installation. In the subsequent phase, in collaboration with Element Logic, the AutoStore system was implemented. This system enables products to be stored in plastic bins, which are then delivered by robots to employees who pick the orders.

In the next stage of the investment, the automated storage system was connected via conveyors to solutions the company has long utilized in its logistics center, including the packaging machine, shipping label applicator, and sorter. Before the new system began supporting order fulfillment, extensive tests were conducted, which revealed no significant operational errors.

“The system we’ve recently implemented in our logistics center is technologically world-class, as evidenced by how frequently it’s deployed across various logistics operations,” says Mateusz Kapusta, Logistics Director at Morele. “We’re pleased that this standard solution is controlled by an MFC system tailored to our needs and equipped with ergonomic tools designed by us. For this investment, we aimed to perfect every detail, so all elements were tested on mock-ups by management and employees until a satisfactory outcome was achieved. During project implementation, the biggest challenge was conducting modernization work without negatively impacting the order fulfillment process. Ultimately, we achieved this through meticulous planning. The entire team from our logistics center was involved in the project from the planning stage, which meant we had excellent understanding during system launch, knew what needed improvement, and how to resolve any issues we encountered. The support from suppliers of individual components, which we could always count on, also played a significant role.”

The investment cost Morele over 20 million PLN, with the purchase of the AutoStore system being its most crucial component. Interestingly, the company announced that this isn’t the end of new developments to be implemented in its logistics center in the near future; some of these are already undergoing testing.

Through this modernization, Morele aims to serve its customers and collaborating sellers even more efficiently.
